I didn't take very good pictures for this project but you can still see a little bit of difference with the table, and a significant difference with the chairs.
For this table I stripped the old varnish, braced the legs with some metal supports, and then re-stained it.
The chairs were in worse shape than the table - cracked, missing dowels in the legs, and splinters everywhere.
